I will overwhelm 'legitimate fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight round match which will be streamed live on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the combatants came face-to-face to promote next month's bout.

Ex two time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Boxer's Mentality

"I plan to injure his face and damage his physique. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, stated.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Civil Interaction

Despite those words, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically recognized for his theatrics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul rather criticized former Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "not serious" after Ngannou turned down a fight offer.

Targeting Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer commented.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Fighter

Despite saying he intends to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to speak negatively about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he stated.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since turning professional.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.

Financial Attraction

Still, the novice is still one of boxing's biggest commercial attractions, consistently making huge paydays.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in round four or five and asserted he would prevent the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly in the works for two years from now.

"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul said.

Size Disparity

As both boxers participated in the traditional stare-down, with their height and weight contrast evident, it drove home just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is really proceeding.
